About us

Cairellot Nursery which is in the village of Bishopton, Renfrewshire was established in August 1993 by Ann Cairns and Rosemary Elliot - hence the name. We started with 7 children and 3 members of staff and now have over 200 children and over 30 members of staff. The After School Care and Playscheme followed on as a natural progression to meet the needs of our Parents and Children. The Community Nursery evolved through Partnership with Renfrewshire Council in August 1998. Cairellot was one of the first Partnership establishments developed by the Council.

  • We aim to provide appropriate curriculum for our children where the child is at the centre
  • We aim to progress children’s development and learning
  • We will provide appropriate activities to promote the children’s development and learning through play
  • We provide support for all our children and their families
  • We aim to create a positive ethos within the nurseries and out of school care and operate an ‘Open Door’ policy to encourage parents to feel they can speak to any member of staff when it is convenient to them
  • We provide a wide and varied range of resources in keeping with the requirements of the five key aspects of children’s learning
  • The Management of Cairellot hold quality assurance as a priority
